EPDM Rubber Parts
Excellent oxidation and ozone resistance, heat resistance and aging resistance. With excellent vulcanization properties, EPDM is widely used in automotive parts, waterproof materials for construction, wire and cable sheaths, automotive seals and other fields.

What is EPDM rubber?
EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer), the main feature is its superior resistance to oxidation, ozone and corrosion. Among all the rubbers, EPDM has the lowest density which can absorb large amounts of fillers and oils with little effect on its properties, making it possible to make inexpensive rubber compounds. In addition, EPDM has been greatly improved in performance through modification, greatly expanding its application range.

EPDM Properties
- Low Density: 0.86~0.90g/cm³
- Broad Temperature Range: -20°F to 350°F | -29°C to 177°C
- Hardness Range: 30-90 Shore A
- High Tensile Strength: 500 PSI to 2500 PSI
- Maximum Elongation 600%
- Heat Aging Resistance - Excellent
- Ozone Resistance - Excellent
- Insulation Performance - Good
- Tear Resistance - Fair
- Oil Resistance - Poor
- Adhesion to Metal - Fair to Good
Advantage and Benefit of EPDM
Aging resistance
Excellent weather resistance, ozone resistance, heat resistance, and UV resistance. Adding a suitable anti-aging agent can increase its service temperature, and the modified EPDM rubber can be used under harsh conditions.
Corrosion Resistance
Good resistance to many chemicals, however, EPDM is poor stability in mineral oils.
Steam and Water Resistant
Long-term use in super heated steam and hot water, little change in mechanical properties.
Low Electrical Conductivity
EPDM has excellent electrical insulation properties and corona resistance.
Applications of EPDM Rubber
- Automotive: air hose, hydraulic brake system, weather stripping and seal, joint bellow;
- HVAC: compressor grommet, silent block, panel gaskets and seal;
- General Industrial: o ring and seal, grommets, hoses, dust boots, rollers.
